The Culture Lab is opening its first exhibition this Friday 29 October at 6pm with Malawian visual artist Madalitso Ziwaoh.

Join us on Friday between 6 and 7pm for wine as you walk around our exhibition. The exhibition will run for one week from 29 October to 5 November. You will have a chance to purchase Madalitso’s work.

Madalitso Ziwaoh is a visual artist who specialises in portraits, landscapes, abstracts, wildlife, mural paintings, and signage. A self-taught artist, Madalitso began drawing at age eight and painting years later.

Madalitso’s work has been displayed at the Art In The Park (formerly known as WESM Art Fest), SGW Art Exhibition, Blantyre Arts Festival, Africa Fashion Festival, the Bingu International Convention Center, and the British Council, Jacaranda Cultural Center, and KwaHaraba Art Gallery among others.

Earlier this year, Madalitso held a great art exhibition ‘The boy who harnessed the wind’ celebrating the talent of William Kamkwamba who made a windmill in collaboration with his friend Charles Levison. Madalitso also had live painting sessions at the Chocolate Factory in Zomba, Jacaranda Cultural Center in Blantyre, Latitude 13 hotel and at the SADC summit in Lilongwe where he painted live eight heads of state in a record of four hours.
